October 2011 Volunteers of the Center of Hope
The volunteers at the Center of Hope in Toledo enjoyed a retreat together. They came to learn, to grow spiritually and to have some fun. Thank you to our host Lois and Carl Rosenberry for allowing us to use their lake home, it was so wonderful.
Golf Outing at Fallen Timbers to raise awareness for the Toledo Center of Hope
September 9th, 2011 a golf outing was held to raise awareness and funding for the Toledo Center of Hope. What an incredible event and fun was had by all. The rain held out and the sun came through and we ended up having a wonderful day. We so appreciate all of our corporate sponsors and everyone that sacrificed time to come and enjoy the day. Money was raised to help fund the local Center of Hope continue to help serve the women here in northwest Ohio. Thank You to a ll.
New Director to serve at the Toledo Center of Hope
Cathy Lanning from Columbus Ohio has been named the new director of the Toledo Center of Hope. Cathy will begin her transition into the position as part time Director and will move into full time in the fall of 2011. Cathy has been a part of Journey of the Heart for many years in Columbus and has left her career of 32 years and has moved to Toledo to join us. We welcome Cathy with great excitment and know that we are blessed having her as the Director.
July 15-18, 2010 eWomen Network Event
What an event! The experience began with great results as Mary arrived at the event with a rehearsal for the Gala event, where she met Sandra Yancey the founder of eWomen. The Gala event was top of the line where Zig Ziglar received the lifetime achievement award. What an wonderful honor it was for Mary to share the evening with Zig Ziglar and his daughter Julie. The next morning the conference began and it was 3 days of excitement, learning and meeting of amazing women from all over the United States. It was networking at its finest in an atmosphere of giving and great wisdom. Even in the fun events women were networking and sharing knowledge and resources. Thank you again to eWomen Network for everything.
May 4, 2010 eWomen Network Foundation awards Journey of the Heart Foundation Grant
Journey of the Heart was selected as a recipient of an eWomen Network Foundation Grant for 2010. In addition to the grant award, eWomen Network is sending Mary A. Michel CEO of Journey of the Heart to Dallas Texas to receive the award at their 10th Annual Femtor Award Gala/eWomen Network Conference. Journey of the Heart also receives a one year membership in the eWomen National Network. Congratulations!!
May 2, 2010 - Center of Hope in Toledo debuts new renovated space
Journey of the Heart held a special Appreciation Open House at the Toledo Center of Hope for the purpose of saying thank you to everyone who had a part in the expansion and renovation of the Center's space. The expansion opened up more rooms for their one to one mentoring services, created a new welcome area, a large fellowship area for the women to take a moment in time for themselves, a work room/kitchen for the volunteers and a new office for Journey of the Heart. Stop by and see how the Center expansion will help meet the needs of the women in the community.
January 2010 - Journey of the Heart signs a lease to expand the Toledo Center of Hope
Journey of the Heart signed a 3-year lease to expand the Toledo Center of Hope at 2048 S. Byrne Road, which triples the size of the Center. The expansion and renovation should take a few months or so to complete. This will allow the Center to open up more rooms for their one-to-one mentoring services plus much more as they move into the fuller vision for the Center of Hope.
